Minecraft is one of the most fun games to play if you know how to play it. While most things are intuitive and require little to no guidance, some stuffs like Enchanting requires a guide. Most of your tools can have multiple Enchantments and some of them are mutually exclusive(I will mention if so).
In this post, I'll share you combinations of best Enchantments for your tools.
There are two methods of obtaining Enchantments
1. Through Enchanting Table - You need to build an Enchantment Setup with Bookshelves to get best enchantments.Although a level 30 Enchanting setup often yields highest level of enchantments, getting more than one enchantment on a single tool is a gamble. If you are lucky, you will get upto 3 enchantments in the first try, else you would need multiple attempts with spare tools.
If you are having a hard time getting good enchantment, I'd recommend building a trading hall with dozen of librarians to get enchanted books.
Now that you know how to get all the Enchantments, here are the best Enchantments for each essential tools:
Best Enchantments for Helmet
Must Have- Respiration III(additional underwater time before drowning starts), Aqua Affinity(increased mining speed under water), Unbreaking III(increases durability, or to be more precise, decreases the chances of getting damaged), Mending(only obtainable from Enchanted books, uses some of the XP to repair equipped tool/gear)
Should have- Any one Protection Enchantment(Protection IV, Projectile Protection IV, Fire Protection IV, Blast Protection IV) [note: you can only have 1 of these 4 on a single piece of armour]
Optional- Thorns III(not really useful in Survival, mostly used in PvP game modes but beware, takes a toll on durability)
Best Enchantment for Chestplate

Optional- Thorns III, Soul Speed III(only obtained by bartering or in Bastion Remnant)
Note- You may have noticed you can equip only one Protection type enchantment on one armour piece. Since there are total 4 pieces and 4 of Enchantments, you should try to get 1 unique one for each armour piece.
