Fix 'AdSense doesn't know about your blog' and grayed out dashboard options

If you Google 'AdSense doesn't know about your blog', the top results will tell you to manually add your blog link in the sites option from your AdSense dashboard. But what if you're an unfortunate person like me whose AdSense dashboard is grayed out for most options? If you're facing the same issue, then you've come to the right blog. I'll tell you exactly how I fixed my issue.

Can't add your site/blog link because the sites option in AdSense is gray/unclickable?

Recently I applied to monetize my blog. It clearly mentioned that "AdSense is reviewing your site. For some publishers the activation process can be as quick as a day and for others it can take several weeks". So I started waiting and kept waiting for almost a month and got impatient because I got no mails, no notifications, nothing. By now I knew something went wrong and started looking for answers. I found out that I'm not the only one facing that issue but the numbers aren't high enough to motivate some 'blogging guru' into writing a tutorial. Before I tell you the fix, let me make it clear that this post covers a very specific issue, if your issue doesn't match screenshots I've provided below, then I'm sorry I can't help you. I'm not a blogging expert, I'm still learning about blogging. I'm just hoping to help those bloggers that are facing the exact same issue as me and are frustrated that they can't find the solution.

So here are the symptoms/details of the problem:

1. AdSense doesn't know about your blog

2. Grayed out dashboard options/can't click on sites

Like I mentioned earlier, I waited almost a month for something to happen. When nothing happened, I started watching tutorials on YouTube and reading guides by other bloggers like any other person would do. But unfortunately all the tutorials/guides I came across only covered the "AdSense doesn't know about your blog" part. Nobody addressed why I couldn't click on sites button on AdSense dashboard. So I started digging deeper, started reading forum discussions. I stumbled upon a guy who faced the same problem and had successfully solved it. I tried his fix and it worked for me too.

So how do you really fix grayed out dashboard menu and make the sites button clickable?

When I started blogging in June this year, I was also fiddling around with monetization options. I had zero idea about monetization methods, so I didn't know the difference between AdSense, AdWords and AdMob. Turns out even if you leave the registration process of AdMob in the middle, Google remembers it and requires you to complete the registration before you add your sites to AdSense.

So I completed my AdMob registration and all the grayed out options in AdSense become clickable. So hopefully your issue should also resolve when you finish your AdMob registration too.

Note: As I mentioned in the beginning, I am not a blogging expert so I do not guarantee that it will work. However, if you are facing a different issue than what I have described, then I can guarantee that it definitely will not work 😜
